Hierloom Legs May Be Coming In WoW Patch 4.3

In Patch 4.3 there will be a New Darkmoon Faire island.  The entire Darkmoon Faire is being revamped.  One of the announcements from Blizzard is that the new Darkmoon Faire will contain new hierloom gear.  All the way back to the Cataclysm Beta we saw Heirloom Leggings and Heirloom Rings datamined.  I agree with WarcraftEcon and expect these to be the heirlooms added in the new Darkmoon Faire content of Patch 4.3. 

Since selling item enhancements and enchantments for the other heirloom gear is so profitable, let’s look ahead to what may be profitable if heirloom leggings are one of the two new heirlooms from the new Darkmoon Faire coming in WoW Patch 4.3.  (Heirloom Rings have no enchancement options.) There are not many options for what can be placed on a leg slot item that is Bind-On-Account.  The only items that can be placed on heirloom gear are item enhancements and enchantments that have no character level or item level requirements.  This leaves only the following options for an heirloom leggings enchancement:

• Light Armor Kit – Adds +8 Armor to Chest, Legs, Hands, or Feet.

That’s it folks.  There is only one item enhancement that can be placed on a piece of heirloom legging BoA gear: the Light Armor Kit.   A single Light Armor Kit is crafted from just one piece of Light Leather.  So it is safe to assume that if an Heirloom Legging is coming in the Patch 4.3 Darkmoon Faire changes, then the value of Light Leather will increase.  The increase in value to Light Leather will be directly related to Light Leather being the only required material for crafting the only item enhancement that will be used for Heirloom Leggings.  If you see some nicely priced Light Leather stacks on the auction house, you might want to snatch up a few to put back and sell later as Light Leather Singles and Light Armor Kits.  Light Armor Kits are crafted by the most basic Leatherworkers.  Most players dump their Light Leather and don’t have it sitting around in their banks because it doesn’t have much value.  It will have an increase in value if Heirloom Leggings are coming to World of Warcraft.
