Farming Meats For MoP Cooking

Where To Farm For Cooking Meats In Mists of Pandaria?

Cooking Quests and The Tiller’s Union

The Introduction of the Tillers faction and all of their participating farmers whom each have their own Friendship levels of reputation has been an amazing source of income for many WoW players.  Both veteran and brand new players can take full advantage of the various ways to make gold in WoW offered with the introduction of the Tillers Union.

The Tiller’s Union Daily Quests and the Cooking quests required to level your Cooking skill with the various “Ways” both require a huge amount of Vegetables, Meats, and Fish.  Many of these required meats, vegetables, and fish can be grown on your own farm plots in Halfhill or can be farmed or fished from the various wildlife within the Mists of Pandaria zones.

Be sure to check out Cold’s post on the shopping lists of a Tiller’s Union Daily Quest grinder.  There are a ton of food items that are required every day to complete all of the cooking and Tiller daily quests.

Farming For Cooking Materials

Vegetables

Vegetables can be grown on your own farm and get more profitable as you unlock more plots of farmable soil on your personal Halfhill farm.  Unfortunately you must be level 90 to start unlocking the extra plots, but your level 85s can get their 4 plot farm running with little trouble.

Fish

Fish can be obtained throughout their waterways, rivers, streams, and oceans of Pandaria.  The best way to obtain the proper fish required for the Cooking quests is to fish from within a Pool of the desired fish.  Fishing within pools takes only a level 1 skill in Fishing.

Meats

Farming the meats for cooking are the hardest, most time consuming, and often the most profitable of the cooking materials.  You must farm the cooking meats from the proper creatures of Pandaria.  Fortunately, Nev from Auction House Addict has compiled a new series on just where the best places are to farm the various Cooking required meats of Mists of Pandaria.

Shields: Chips off the old Block

After the transmogrification hype died down a bit, I strolled over to my local auction house on the Horde side. I was doing my normal daily scan of items to flip, when I came across the Shields up for bid/buyout. My mouth almost dropped when I saw a Skullflame Shield up for 25,000 gold! I remember selling this same shield before Cata for maybe 5000 gold at the most. I went to check the rest of the shields and saw low level shields going for slightly more than what their stats and levels would otherwise dictate. I realized that the transmog die hards viewed shields as a major transmog piece of gear due to their instant transformation from mehville to coolsville. I went to my own bank on my horde toon and realized I had a large amount of shields (both twink and non-twink) that might net me some profit. Excitedly, I went to the Undermine Journal and started looking up the prices on each shield for my realm and faction. I had collected around 50 shields from dungeons, auction house deals, etc. I found that I had a pretty nice collection that I could put up on the auction house for transmog purposes. I put up maybe 10 of my 50 shields to see if I could get any bites. I logged off for the night.
The next day after breakfast, I leisurely logged on to my horde to do his daily fishing/cooking quests when I noticed I had mail. I checked my mail and to my delight, I had sold 9 of the 10 shields I put up in the auction house the night before. I netted around 5000 gold on these shields! I proceeded to put up 5 more shields and within two days, I sold all 6 of the shields. I have been doing this for around two months and would like to share my own personal Top 5 Shields for transmog to sell on the auction house. All 5 of these shields are based on my personal preference and profit as well. Please keep in mind that these prices are tentative based on each realm’s supply and demand.

Skullflame Shield –  skullflameshield Shields: Chips off the old Block

Probably one of if not the best looking shield in the game as of now. This skull spews fire from around it making it very easy to identify on any toon’s back or arm. This shield can command anywhere from 20k-50k on the auction house. This shield is a rare drop from 55-61 level mobs. Although, you can farm Mana-Tombs Heroic for a similar shield: The Fel Barrier which has around a 25-30% drop rate (Nexus Prince Shaffar can drop this shield), interest in the Skullflame shield is still high at the auction house.

Zom’s Crackling Bulwark zomscracklingbulwark 300x295 Shields: Chips off the old Block

This is another rare and cool looking shield with a moving circular motion inside the shield. This shield has been sold on  my realm for close to 15k. It can drop from any level 75-80 mob. There is an alternative to this shield: Stormshield Renewal which is a 12-15% drop from The Black Stalker in the Underbog Heroic dungeon.  Once again, farming is something most don’t enjoy doing, so they will go to the auction house and spend the gold instead.

Crystal Pulse Shieldcrystalpulseshield Shields: Chips off the old Block

A very nice and world drop that has been peaking on my server’s auction house lately and has a unique look. This shield sold for 5k. It can drop from almost any level 60-70 mob. This shield has a nice pulsating light emitting from the middle of it.

Don Gonzales’s Shiny Shield: dongonzalesshinyshield e1334846786680 252x300 Shields: Chips off the old Block

A very nice world drop shield with a unique symbol and shape to it. This shield has gone for 3k-4k on my realm. It can drop from almost any Cataclysm mob. The shield has also been known to be found in silken treasure chests as well.

Ward of the Red Widow –  wardoftheredwidow e1334847023429 Shields: Chips off the old Block

Last but most definitely not least is a rare drop from Beth’tilac (The Red Widow) boss in Firelands comes a nice shield which as commanded around 15k-20k gold on my realm. This shield is a very unique one with a wicked design. The drop rate has been rumored to be around 1%.

Honorable Mentions:

Troll Protector – A very simple wooden shield with a cool design on it.
Aegis of Stormwind – A nice light blue shield which looks like Alliance should wield it.
Garrett Family Crest – A nice red shield that might look better for a Horde toon.
Mountainside Buckler – A nice triangle shaped shield which is glimmering and shiny.
The Green Tower – A simple rectangular shaped shield that is…you guessed it..green.

Sweet Secluded WoW Miner Farming Spot: Rich Thorium Veins

Stagalbog Cave Is A Sweet Farming Spot

If you are a miner in WoW and are looking for a nice secluded sweet spot for farming Thorium Ore, then I have the location for you.  The Stagalbog Cave is located along the South Eastern mountain ridges of  Swamp Of Sorrows.  I happened upon this cave with a character of mine as I was flying around looking over some of the Vanilla WoW zones.  Sometimes I like to take the scenic route and farm up some ores or herbs in my travels instead of just taking the shortest route or the flight path.  I have been selling the hell out of Arcanite Bars at the rate of 75 gold per Arcanite Bar!  Someone has decided to take over the Arcane Crystal market and has raised the prices to 25 gold per Arcane Crystal (while my computer was down).  Lol.  I have plenty of the Arcane Crystals stored up from always paying 1 to 2 gold per Crystal.  Anyways, while flying around I noticed the entrance of this cave and a multitude of Rich Thorium Veins poking out the cave entrance.  The mini-map was lighting up multiple nodes located inside this cave.  So I dropped down and started mining away and clearing my way through this cave.  There are a ton of Thorium Veins and Rich Thorium Veins inside of the Stagalbog Cave.  This allows for easy miner farming of Thorium Ore, Arcane Crystals, and the occasional gem.

Stationary Mining

Sometimes I am on the computer and not really playing WoW, but the game window is open.  I may be crafting behind the scenes or sometimes I find a nice spot to park myself where I can just camp out.  Think of it as stationary mining.  I will be working on another project like a blog post or recording an episode of Auction House Junkies, but the WoW game will be open in the background.  I can just keep an eye on mining veins to respawn on the WoW mini-up.  I can hop in game,  mine the nodes, then sit and wait for them to respawn while I continue to work on my other project.  This cave is a great spot for stationary camping of the Rich Thorium Veins for farming Thorium Ore semi-afk and stationary.

How To Make Gold In The World Of WoW

How To Make Gold In The World Of WoW

Making Gold In The World Of WoW

Gold is a requirement for many things within the World of WoW.  Therefor it is important to learn the major ways to make gold for yourself in the World of WoW.  There are 6 main ways to make gold within the World of Warcraft.  Most players use a combination of multiple gold making methods in order to secure their share of WoW gold.  Every single player has the ability to make enough gold for themselves with a little planning and practice.  Never risk your account’s security by buying gold for the World of WoW.  Learn to make gold yourself and you can continue onwards towards a goal of financial freedom and independence.

6 Main Ways To Make WoW Gold

  1. Looting
  2. Questing
  3. Farming
  4. Flipping
  5. Crafting
  6. Other Oddities

Looting

Looting mobs for their gold and items to sell to the vendors is one of the most basic ways to collect gold in the World of WoW.  Many adversaries will drop coins and items that can also be sold for more WoW gold.  Looting is not the best use of your time as a gold maker.

Questing

Questing is another of the most basic ways to get gold in the World of WoW.  As we complete quests we are awarded with coins and items for selling or disenchanting (if you are an Enchanter).  While questing gold and rewards are a biproduct of leveling you character, there are still better more time efficient ways to make gold in the World of WoW.

Farming

Farming is one of the first steps that most players take on their path towards earning gold within the auction houses in WoW.  Farming involves either killing select creatures or mobs for specific items that they drop or farming various material resources from out in the wild of the World of WoW.  Farming is more commonly referred to for the gathering professions – Mining, Herbalism, Skinning, and Tailoring.  Killing creatures or humanoids over and over for the items they drop is also commonly referred to as Grinding.  Selling those farmed items on the auction house is a sure fire way to increase your gold reserves.  Be sure to check out the Beginner’s Guide To Farming here at Goldgrub’s Goblin Academy.

Flipping

Flipping items is a very easy gold making strategy if you know what to buy and what to sell.  Some npc vendors sell limited quantity recipes that are almost always going to sell for more on the auction house than you originally paid for the item from the original npc vendor.  Once you understand the various markets and their market cycles in the World of WoW, you will be able to identify items that you can buy now and sell for more later.  Grossly underpriced items can be snatched up and flipped for a near instant profit.  So you can make gold off flipping items from other players or from items sold off of npc WoW vendors.

Crafting

Crafting involves the fine art of buying raw materials and converting those raw materials into finished usable products such as armor, gems, enchantments, weapons, glyphs, etc.  Crafting is where we make the most of our profession choices in the World of WoW.  Many of us serious gold makers have multiple crafting characters (commonly referred to as crafting mules if their sole purpose is just crafting) so that we can cover multiple markets by utilizing multiple crafting professions.  Crafting is probably the best over all World of WoW gold making option as long as you are educated on what items to craft and sell for a profit.

Other Oddities For Gold Making

Other odd ways to make gold include options such as GDKP runs.  A GDKP run is a run through a raid instance where all dropped items go up for auction and each member of the raid has the option to bid on the item and pay gold to win the item.  The highest bidder of each items pays gold into the pot and at the end of the raid all gold is split evenly amongst all of the participants.  This is a nice way to make gold with a higher level character and often the BoE items obtained from within the raid can sell on the auction house for far more than your winning GDKP bid.

Dancing naked on top of a mailbox and begging for tips are another oddball options that can earn you gold, although your time is almost definately more wisely invested in any of the other gold making options in the World of WoW.

So there you have it.  The 6 main methods used in how to make gold in the World of WoW are all available to everyone of us.  Using a combination of these gold making options in WoW will help secure your seat atop that throne of gold.

5 Things Not To Forget Once You’re Maxed

forging1 5 Things Not To Forget Once Youre MaxedThis post was inspired by one of my newer guildies. He’s quite young & although a very good player, he’s never really looked into gold making. I sent him to my blog & pointed out my blog roll. Ten minutes later on skype, he said that he’d learned something new to him & told me what it was. I was kind of surprised that he didn’t know it already because he’s a pretty smart cookie but it made me think of what else I take for granted that might not be so obvious to new goldmakers & so this post was born! I hope it helps any inexperienced readers to make some gold but also, it is a sharp reminder to the more experienced of us, not to forget some of the simpler thngs that we can do once we’re playing with our maxed professions.

Skinning & Leatherworking

When you first start skinning, you get a lot of Ruined Leather Scraps which I clearly remember selling to a vendor when I was totally new to game. If you don’t have a Leatherworker, you could learn it on a bank alt as converting these scraps to Light Leather is one of the very first skills you gain. Light Leather always sells for a better price than the scraps but there are also Knothide Leather Scraps, Borean Leather Scraps & Savage Leather Scraps at the higher levels which a Leatherworker can convert to their respective leathers or even, one step further into the ‘Heavy’ versions.

During Wrath, I found that Heavy Borean Leather always sold for a higher price than the normal version & so far, in Cataclysm, the same seems to be holding true for Savage Leather & Heavy Savage Leather. I used to use Heavy Borean Leather to trade in for Arctic Furs & now I use Heavy Savage Leather to trade in for Pristine Hides.

Mining

This was the little tip that my guildie didn’t know – bars of metal often sell for a higher price than the ore. This can work at all levels – if you think which professions use bars (Blacksmith, Jewelcrafting & Engineering as well as a few for rare Tailoring or Leatherworking patterns) then it seems to a newer player that pairing those professions with mining is an obvious choice. However, once they have maxed their Blacksmith/JC/Engineer, players often drop their mining for a second crafting profession. This leaves them reliant on the Auction House for their supply of bars & that leaves them open to paying slightly higher prices!

This can work at all levels of mining from Copper & Tin all the way upto Elementium & Pyrite ore but that’s not all. There are also a few ‘special’ bars that a miner can make – namely Enchanted Thorium Bar, Hardened Khorium, Hardened Adamantite, Titansteel & of course, Hardened Elementium.  Currently I make Enchanted Thorium (to craft & disenchant) & Hardened Elementium but as always, check your own servers’ markets. The Khorium & Adamantite are very rare on my server mainly because they are the older outdated max level items & there is not much demand for level 70 epic gear anymore. Titansteel is also the old outdated version of the current max level bar but it is used by Engineers to make the chopper/hog which is still selling for  good price on my server – there may be a market there on your server.

Jewelcrafting

If you have mining as well, this one can be very useful – check the prices for gems at all levels – often the lower level ores sell for a pittance whilst the gems you can prospect from those ores sell for silly high prices. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a miner, just buy those low priced ores & prospect away! If you’re not sure which ore prospects to which gems, auctioneer can add that information to your tooltip or you can check it out under ‘prospecting‘ on wowhead.

Tailoring

Unlike ores, converting various cloths into bolts is not quite so reliable. However, some bolts of cloth do sell very well & for me that’s the Imbued Frostweave. I would say, as always, check your own server – in the past, I had good sales with bolts of Netherweave cloth & even Wool.

The other items not to overlook in Tailoring are the Netherweave Bags (very good seller on almost every server, it’s a very common tip) but also the shirts, trousers & robes especially if you are on a Role Play server. With the introduction of Transmogrification in the next patch, there could be an upsurge in the shirts market especially if people want to colour match to their new set.

Enchanting

As with Tailoring, this one’s not quite so reliable but I have been having some nice profits from this one for a while now. Raid your AH for all the very, very cheap ‘green’ armor & weapons & disenchant them. You will mostly be finding the very lowest item level greens but sometimes you can pick up higher level items to disenchant to dream dust or arcane dust for example.

I’m also an alt-addict so I almost always have an alt somewhere levelling & picking up cloth as they go. For any linen & wool, if the price of the cloth on the AH is very low, I craft it into the cheapest green item I can then disenchant that. I often look for very very cheap linen cloth on the AH  & craft that too.

Well, there ya go, I hope this helps. Let me know in comments if you think of something I should have included here or if you try one of these tips, let me know how it goes!

Happy Goldmaking

Murlocs, Coyotes and Cooking..Oh My!

cooking 300x193 Murlocs, Coyotes and Cooking..Oh My!

My horde death knight is mainly pvp but I realized that his cooking was extremely low. I decided to check out my local auction house for some low-level meat to level up my cooking. Two of my recipes required clam meat and coyote meat.  The auction house had none. I decided to find out where to farm these. I was hoping to stay in Kalimdor but unfortunately had to venture to Westfall (Alliance territory).  I went to Longshore in Westfall and started from one side of the coast.  I killed every murloc I came across (ahhh sweet revenge).  The murlocs there drop small barnacled clams.  These clams contain clam meat and sometimes a small lustrous pearl.  I farmed for about 30 minutes and collected 40-45 small barnacled clams.  The drop rate for the small barnacled clams was 1 in every 2 murlocs.  Each of these clams contained 1 clam meat. I proceeded to the Jansen Stead area in Westfall and killed as many coyotes as I could find.  These coyotes were also located near of Furlbrow’s Pumpkin Patch.  Coyote meat drops from around 1 in every 4 coyotes.  I farmed these coyotes for 30 minutes as well and picked up 25 coyote meats. I headed back to Orgrimmar so that I could start cooking.

Light My Fire

I ended up using only 20 of the clam meats and decided to put up the rest of the clam meat in the auction house in stacks of 5.  Since there was none up for sale, I posted my clam meat for 45-50 gold per stack of 5.  To justify this price, I figured the travel time, time spent farming and carrying charges.  I only used 15 of the coyote meats and decided to post the other 10 up in stacks of 5 as well.  Once again, there were none up for sale.  I put the coyote meat up for 45-50 per stack of 5 utilizing the same justifications for the clam meat.  By the time I was ready to log for the day, that all too familiar notification popped up in my general chat box: A buyer has been found for your clam meat.  This repeated 4 more times indicating I had sold all of my clam meat.  Sheer delight engulfed me.  Then, not a minute later, I received more notifications.  They read: A buyer has been found for your coyote meat.  This repeated once more.  Eureka!  My farming had paid off.  Interestingly enough,  both meats had been purchased by the same buyer.  No doubt, they were also leveling up their cooking and didn’t want to go out and farm for the meat.

I did a little personal research and found that the small barnacled clam also drops from coralshell lurkers in Azshara which is much closer to Orgrimmar.  The coyote meat, however, only drops in Westfall.  Although, you can level up to move to higher recipes with the clam meat and it is easier to acquire.  Keep in mind these prices are realm dependent.  Supply and demand on each realm varies.  Whether you are trying to level up your cooking or make some extra gold, check your ingredients for your recipes and check your auction house to see what you can farm to raise your gold level.

Here Fishy Fishy…

fishing 300x167 Here Fishy Fishy...

Every time I see a yellow dot indicating a fishing pool, I fish.  I do enjoy fishing even though most dread it.  The one thing I have noticed on my realm is the lack of fish available for sale in the auction house. I decided to farm for any fish I could find in the areas I was questing. You must obtain a Weather-Beaten Journal to track these pools in your map. The Weather-Beaten Journal can be obtained in: daily fishing bags or any crate/box you pull up from fishing pools. This journal can only be learned when you have obtained a fishing skill of 100.

My Fishing Trip

I was out leveling up my mining skill on one of my toons when I decided to level up her fishing as well.  Anytime I saw a specific pool on my map, I would plop down, turn on my music and fish in serenity.  I probably did about 30 minutes of fishing in an area that was abundant with Oily Blackmouth and Firefin Snapper fishing pools.  I obtained close to 30 Oily Blackmouth and about 20 Firefin Snapper.  Since I had no use for the fish at that time, I decided to check the auction house and see what they were going for.  One person had 1 Oily Blackmouth up for 10 gold.  I ended up putting the Oily Blackmouth up for 30-35 gold buyout per stack of 5.  Oily Blackmouth are used to make Blackmouth Oil for Alchemists. I checked the Firefin Snapper and saw that there were none for sale.  I put the Firefin Snapper up for 45-50gold  per stack of 5 just to see if they sold.  Firefin Snapper is used to make Fire Oil which is also used for Alchemists.  Within the day, all of my fish had sold.  I checked my realm for different fish that I could fish for and ended up reaping in nice benefits.  I farmed for fish for the next week and even had a guild mate make me a Lure Master Tackle Box to hold all my fish.

My Results

I gathered many stacks of different fishes for various professions.  I sold 80-85% of all the fish I farmed for within 3 days totaling almost 1000 gold!  Please note that every realm is different but nevertheless, a little research on which fish are selling great on your realm’s auction house is encouraged.  You can check out The Undermine Journal for what fish are selling well on your realm.  Even though fishing can be boring and tedious to some, don’t underestimate the profit you can get from farming these fish.  I will also add that the Deepsea Sagefish sells for close to 175 per stack of 20 on my realm. This fish is used to create a delicacy which most healers and casters hunger for in 85 dungeons and raids.  Even the two created foods:  Delicious Sagefish Tail and Severed Sagefish Head sell for a nice profit on my realm.  All you need to do is check out what is selling, grab your strong fishing pole and turn up the music.  Oh, one more thing…it doesn’t hurt to say “Here Fishy, Fishy” as the pupils in your eyes turn into gold coins.

Farming For Cloth Can Increase Your Pocket Change

frostweave1 300x146 Farming For Cloth Can Increase Your Pocket Change

I logged in the other day to my level 68 Horde Death Knight and realized his pocket change was growing thin. He only had 25 gold and is a level 68. That was quite embarrassing.  I decided to head over to Wailing Caverns and farm a bit.  I ended up with close to 15 wool cloth and 20 linen cloth along with some uncommon (greenies) items.  I headed over to the Auction House to put up my cloth and see if I could sell it.  To my amazement, linen cloth was going for 15 gold per stack of 20 and wool cloth was going for 25 gold per stack of 20!  I immediately put my cloth up and within 1 hour it was sold.  The amount of gold made will vary on realm and auction house prices since they do change and depend on supply and demand.

My Farming Adventure

I headed over to Deadmines and snatched almost 40 wool cloth and 10 linen cloth.  I decided to head over to Scarlet Monastery dungeons and see what cloth I could get there.  After running the Library and Armory, I walked out with around 80 silk cloth.  I put those up in the auction house for around 20-25 gold per stack of 20 and sold those within the hour.  I decided to head over to Stratholme dungeon and see what cloth might drop there for me.  I did the Main Gate and ended up with around 100 mageweave cloth.  I put those up on the auction house for around 15-18 gold and that sold withing 2 hours.  My guildmate told me to go to Blackrock Depths for runecloth, so I went with her and came out with almost 140 runecloth.  Those sold in the auction house for 20-25 gold per stack of 20.  I went to Auchindon and ran a couple of the dungeons there with a guildmate and came out with close to 100 netherweave cloth.  Even though it wasn’t selling very high on my realm, I still made a nice profit from it.  I went to Northrend and farmed and grinded quests there with two guildmates.  I ended up with 120 frostweave cloth.  I went to look frostweave cloth up on the auction house and saw that someone had put a stack of 20 up for 175 gold!  I immediately put my own stack up for 100 gold and it sold within two hours.  I only sold two stacks since someone came and undercut my outrageous buyout but realized that frostweave cloth seemed to be the cloth that will net the most profit in my realm.  I will be farming and grinding for more of that cloth until I reach 80 and can go for embersilk cloth next.

Places You Can Farm For Cloth

So here is a short list of areas and/or dungeons where I personally farmed cloth (drops may vary depending on location):

Linen cloth – Wailing Caverns (Horde) Elwynn Forest (Alliance)

Wool cloth – Deadmines dungeon (Horde and Alliance) The Stockade dungeon (Alliance)

Silk cloth -  The Scarlet Monastery dungeons (Horde and Alliance)

Mageweave cloth – Stratholme dungeon (Horde and Alliance) Zul’Farrak dungeon (Horde and Alliance)

Runecloth – Blackrock Depths dungeon (Horde and Alliance)

Netherweave cloth – Auchindon dungeons (Horde and Alliance)

Frostweave cloth – Northrend mobs and dungeons (Horde and Alliance)

Embersilk cloth – Cataclysm zones and dungeons (Horde and Alliance)

Cloth can be used for creating bags, armor and bandages.  Since most people don’t enjoy farming, you will profit from that.  Don’t forget to check your realm’s auction house for prices before you put them up.  Farming for cloth is an easy way to make quick gold and increase your pocket change.

WoW Beginner Farming Tips & Tricks

Farming For Beginners

In World of Warcraft, there are many options for making gold.  You can choose to sell items on the auctions house.  You can choose to craft items to sell or craft and enchant for tips.  One of the easiest markets to get into is farming in WoW for raw materials to post on the auction house.  Why is farming an easy option for beginning players?  Farming requires only a time investment; no gold investment is required to profit from farming in World of Warcraft.  So a brand new player can train for skinning, mining, or herbalism profession and farm materials while playing the game and leveling.  Another option is to dedicate some time to strictly farming the raw materials.  Both options require just the profession skill and either a skinning knife for Skinning or a Mining pick for Mining.  Herbalists just use their bare hands or paws to farm herbs in WoW.

Beginner Tips and Tricks For Farming

Here is a handful of tips and tricks that you should consider when getting started as a beginning farmer in World of Warcraft.

  1. When farming keep your bags as empty as possible when you get started farming.  More bag space means you can carry more raw materials before having to return to either town or a mailbox.
  2. WoW Beginner Tips: Bigger bags are better.  For the same reason, more space means longer possible WoW farming sessions.
  3. Try to keep your gathering skill leveled before moving onto new questing areas.  You don’t want to have to go back to lower level zones or go back to kill grey mobs that award no experience.
  4. Set your hearth close by if sending items via the mailbox or set your hearth in a major city with an auction house, if selling the items directly from your farming character.  Time is money friend.
  5. If you are a dual-gatherer Skinner-Miner, save bag space with a combo gathering tool like a Bladed Pickaxe, which functions as a mining pick and a skinning knife.
  6. Farming during off-hours means less competition for resource nodes and skinable mobs.
  7. When selling your raw materials, you don’t always have to post them for the lowest price.  Many items like raw materials sell in great numbers and selling them as the cheapest isn’t required for your items to sell.
  8. If you are out farming for skins and hides with the Skinning profession, target creatures that can drop extra valuable items in addition to your targetted skins and hides.  Examples:  Yetis drop coins in addition to skins and hides.  Dragon Whelplings can be found on some Dragon Whelp type creatures, but they also are skinable.  Why not try for a rare drop as a possible extra bonus to farming the skinning materials?
  9. Research your targeted farming materials on a site like Wowhead.com.  Know where you are headed and find the best spot with the best creatures to farm.  If you are farming for a specific rare item drop, then be sure to farm in an area where the item has the best chance of dropping.
  10. Vendor all of your garbage you find.  In the span of a farming essions you will collect a lot of grey items that are only good for 1 thing – selling to a vendor.  These items add up and can bring in a nice amount of gold, especially if farming in some of the higher level zones in World of Warcraft.
  11. Don’t forget to bring along some food and mana for less down time.  A nice buff food can help speed up your farming session, if you are farming creatures or humanoids, since it will increase your damage and decrease your time on each kill.
  12. If there is another player farming in your area, it may be more efficient to find a new area instead of competing with them for the same resources.

Now get out there and farm up some materials to sell on the auction house to get you started learning how farming influences the markets in the World of Warcraft auction houses of Azeroth.
