Guild Charters
One of the common things to do when you run out of space is to create another character. Anyone serious about gold making probably will create a “bank alt” character to do a lot of their auction house transactions or to handle the storage and selling of many items. For this reason you will often see players paying for others to sign their guild charters. Why? These players looking for guild signatures aren’t out to start a legitimate guild. They are looking to open a guild bank on a banking alt to vastly increase their space for storage of items, materials, and gold. Learn more about building a better bank alt at Capped by Cata.
In Vanilla World of Warcraft, these guild charters required 10 signatures so you constantly would see players barking that they are paying for signatures. The requirements to start the guild have been changed to only requiring 4 signatures on the guild charter, but you can still see players looking to buy signatures to get their guild and guild bank ready to be used.
Getting Paid For Your Signature
Even if your main character is already in a guild, you can take advantage of this easy gold. How? Make another character. You can make a character that does nothing but gets paid for signing guild charters. You can get your payment, give your signature, and then wait until the guild is formed. Once formed you can quit the guild and start looking for another guild leaders who is looking for signatures and get some easy gold for hardly no work. Sometime I see players offering to pay 10-20 gold for a guild charter signature. To a starting player that is a nice chunk of easily earned gold. You can also do the guild charter signature shuffle on your main character while looking for a good guild to join.
You don’t have to settle for just liquid gold though. You may be better bartering with the signature seeker. How about asking for 2 Netherweave Bags instead of the 10g? On the flip-side, if you are looking for signature for your guild charter, you may get a better response simply going to a starter zone and giving away free Netherweave Bags for those that sign your charter and help you get your guild bank started. Once you have your guild bank up and running for your own alt, keep an idea about what is hidden away in there and don’t forget about your banks.
